Can you imagine what it’s like being in charge of twenty-five Third Graders?
After graduating from the University of Hawaii and teaching English in Japan for a few years, that’s exactly where Kevin found himself, teaching Third Grade at Mauka Lani Elementary School in Kapolei, Hawaii.
Any good Third Grade teacher will tell you that it takes patience, focus and the ability to phase out distractions, strong multi-tasking skills, a real desire to help others, a willingness to put their interests foremost, and most importantly, another pair of eyes in the back of your head! Kevin possessed all of the above and according to his toughest critics, his students’ parents, he was a very good teacher.
When Kevin decided to follow his long-held dream to pursue a career in real estate, he was pleasantly surprised to discover that the skills that made him a good teacher were equally important in making him an effective and knowledgeable Realtor (Okay, the eyes behind the head weren’t quite as important in his real estate career as they were in the classroom!). Joyce, as everyone calls her, knew since college that she wanted to work in real estate. Born, raised and educated in Honolulu, Joyce graduated with distinction from the University of Hawaii (UH) earning a BA in Business Administration with a major in Real Estate and Marketing.
After UH, Joyce devoted more than two years as a Real Estate Analyst for an appraisal company where she gained experience in commercial and residential property valuations. She dedicated another two years as a Project Coordinator with Hawaii’s oldest escrow company and managed a team overseeing recorded interests of such clients as Marriott Hawaii.
